Do you like to write Poetry? 
 Would you like a chance to win £50 an a Parker pen set?

If so why not enter our Poet of Pontypool Competition? The competition is open to all residents within Torfaen (not just Pontypool)

The Poem themes this year are:
Pontypool's Communities - past and present
or
Pontypool is my kind of town because........

We have an adult section and a junior section so all ages can enter....your poem must not exceed 30 lines and all Junior entrants must state their age when entering.

1st prize is £50 and a Parker pen set
2nd prize is £30
3rd prize is £20

 Eisteddfod 2017

On Thursday 16th March we held our Inter- Schools Eisteddfod at Pontypool Active Living Centre.

The event was scaled down this year and a new format was trialed where only the following categories were judged:

Group recitation

Welsh Folk Country Dancing

Choir

The following Infant and Junior Schools participated:

Penygarn Community Primary School

Griffithstown Primary School

George Street Primary School

New Inn Primary School

The day was filled with recitals, music and dancing all in the medium of the Welsh language.   

The overall winner for the Infant Schools were - Griffithstown Primary

The overall winner for the Junior School were - New Inn Primary

Well done to all who participated!!!!
